Join Amy Klein, our General Counsel, at the Capital Region Human Resource Association’s Fiduciary Bootcamp –Fiduciary Fables – on July 27th. We are going to have some fun with this program!
“Fable” –noun– A short story, often using animal characters, conveying a moral. Using real-life stories (actual case studies, from the U.S. Supreme Court, where possible), we will illustrate the seminal concepts of fiduciary coverage and rules. This is a more nuanced look at where the structural pitfalls are, and how they can be avoided by plan design and other strategies. For example, what is a “plan” anyway? Who is an “employer”? What does “maintained” by an employer mean? This session is designed for folks who have undergone “Fiduciary Bootcamp”, have some knowledge of the ERISA fiduciary rules, or just enjoy learning through story telling.
